Craigslist is the most popular and dominant free classifieds website online. However, there are a lot of sites like Craigslist that are free to use.
Here are the top three other websites like Craigslist to use. They include eBay Classifieds, Oodle and Backpage.
These are legitimate online classified websites, but keep in mind, you won’t get the crazy amount of traffic a Craigslist ad can draw.
You might be lucky to get half of the attention with these three sites combined, but they can still be powerful.
Number One Site Like Craigslist
The first site is eBay Classifieds. When they first launched, they were known as Kijiji for awhile. Then they switched to the eBay Classifieds name in order to use name authority to challenge Craigslist. Unfortunately, they will never hit the level of CL classified ads. But it is still worth a shot posting there since it is free to use.
Number Two Site Like Craigslist
Oodle is a great site to use to sell some unwanted items, but again, it will not get the amount of traffic a well written CL ad will get you.
But over the last few years, Oodle has integrated social media functions to their site so people can connect via Facebook.
That lets you be more comfortable that you are meeting a real person and not a serial killer.
Number Three Site Like Craigslist
The last site like Craigslist is called Backpage.com. It has a bit more of a seedy reputation, since there is an obvious adult section for escorts, body rubs, strippers and S&M, but people do sell stuff through the website.
I don’t think I will go into any more detail about Backpage, but it is available and free to use to list and sell in your area for free. Other advice, just sell on Craigslist instead.
When Was Backpage.com Deleted?
Funny update: Backpage was removed April 6, 2018 for basically the reasons I mentioned above.
